All the mortgage offers track with the housing bubble and its "debt is no big deal; you can have anything you want!" ethos, the American dream with a variable rate loan. The porn links disguised as personals reflect the atomism of the Internet Age, with its concomitant desire for true connection. And so on, and so on, overthinking egghead babble.
