Is Borat really all that funny? Funny enough to warrant a movie? Because I've always thought the character terribly annoying and the movie looks, to me, dull and un-funny. So it'll probably be a huge hit. *sigh* But, anyway, am I alone in my opinion?

Quite. And I never really enjoyed Ali-G much either, or for more than a few minutes. And try living in the UK at the height of his popularity. He was impossible to avoid.
Really, small countries suck sometimes.
I actually find Ali G and Bruno funnier characters than Borat. But it really is all the same isn't it: get people to say stupid crap. Which has it's place and can be funny, but isn't, for me at least, very good in large doses. I mean, how long can you watch people saying stupid crap being led on by a man playing a character saying stupid crap before you just throw up your hands and say, "YES, people are dumb! Enough already!" The Daily Show, for instance, does it better because their interviews are only a few minutes; anything longer than that and it just gets old and kinda insulting.
