Summer Has Sauntered In

Well, summer has come to the Northeast US. My reaction? "Ugh." The heat! The humidity! It's just yucky and "clitty" (to borrow the graphic, but surprisingly apt, neologism of a female friend of mine) and gross! Thank God for air-conditioning.

Not a summer fan either? Thank goodness for the prolonged rainy season here in the Pacific Northwest.

It's the humidity, more than anything, that gets to me.

Yes I have been in California for only a few days now and the humidity is killing me. In Arizona sweat instantly evaporates. The air has no moisture at all.

Ah, yes, the storied "dry heat." My friend went to Utah for the summer to work. She said that "dry heat" is real, but that, when it's like 120 degrees, the dryness kinda doesn't make it feel that much better. Still, I'd take that any day over 98 degrees with 100% humidity!
