For want of anything else, I watched the BAFTAs (British Oscars, basically) tonight. I have no real opinions on the winners, since I don't even think I was at the movies this year, but I'm always amazed at how they move at a quick, smooth clip, and finish on-time at about two hours (two-and-a-half on BBC America, with commercials) while not tastelessly playing everyone off in the middle of thanking their mother. Meanwhile, the Oscars are slow, plodding, always running over, and about ten hours. It bruises my jingoistic side that the damn Limeys can do an awards show better than us. We won the Revolution, you know!
Oh, and BTW, Sharon Stone is totally craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.
