Being gay and being homosexual are two different things. Perhaps that's occurred to every other thinking person, but I had certainly never thought of it like that before. It's a very enlightening distinction, I think, that makes the phenomenon of self-hating closet cases, which I have never fully understood, much more comprehensible.

being just a few years older than you (i'm 32) i can tell you that this difference is very real and your very lucky that the media allowed you to know about gays before you were in your 20's
