Men 'no read' fiction, that is. We do read other stuff. The original Guardian survey mentioned was quite interesting. I have largely abandoned fiction, but I am presently reading about the Permain extinction, Qing emperors and the history of astrology.
And surely the Canadian literary scene has been recently determined by publishers trying to find 'the next' Margaret Atwood. Whilst she is excellent (I particularly liked her latest collection of short stories, 'The Tent') why should men be interested in reading her imitators?
