I had no idea that Klimt was considered that influential by the art world. Thought it was just the early art school kids who really liked him, what with all the pretty patterns and naked women (masturbating).
So, having been one of those teenagers who went through a Klimt 'phase' I finally got to see this at the Neue Gallerie in Manhattan. And I didn't like it that much. He painted some beautiful landscapes though.

*shrug* I don't know, Gunn. I know he's popular in a popular sense, but I know very little about the art establishment.
