Stupidity, Death, and Wit

I'm sorry, George, but sometimes you Canadians can be just a bit condescending. So what if there's a surge in "stupid books"? It is not The End Of Literature As We Know It. And it's not as if a lot of "serious books" are any less stupid. Lighten up!

Meanwhile, here in the Good Ole U.S. of A, "Mainstream Mass Culture" is dying, but at least they have a sense of humor about it!

And to roundout our tour of Northern Hemisphere Anglophonie, The London Times gives us "Quotes of the Year."

I remember hearing a famous professor at NYU tell his class, "Canadians think they're ethically superior to us... and let's face it, they are."
