This is the portrait of one Bridget Holmes. She was a "Necessary Woman" (read: collected the chamberpots) for almost all of the Stuarts; her career began during the reign of Charles I and ended with William and Mary. She lived to be a hundred years old; she was 96 when this picture was painted and apparently still going strong.
She looks damn good for 96, I think. I hope I'm still so vital at that age.
